Staying in the loop has long been a pain point with teleworkers and others who spend extended periods of time working away from the office. Beyond feeling disconnected from the rest of the team, remote workers can find it difficult to establish an efficient workflow when they are constantly waiting on an important email, phone call or video meeting to get work done. It is important to establish a regular, open line of communication where discussions can happen and problems can be solved at a moments notice rather than being delayed by one sided correspondence.
Thankfully, keeping in touch with office goings on has become easier than ever using mobile telepresence and other new communication technologies. Maintaining contact with work and family while away was one of the main goals that lead Revolve to begin developing the KUBI telepresence robot, and it remains one of our favorite uses. A KUBI on your desk with an open video feed is a really simple and effective solution to help you stay connected while working remotely.
Try it next time you have to travel for work or plan to work from a remote location. Just leave KUBI on your desk powered on and connected to a tablet. Start a telepresence meeting using a client like BlueJeans or Zoom that will allow you to leave the meeting open. Just remember to jot down your KUBI ID# and the meeting ID or send an invitation to yourself so that you can log in! This is easy if you have the new version of the KUBI app, which allows you to save video meetings, send the invitation, and launch the meeting all from within the app.
*You can download the latest version of the KUBI app by visiting the Apple App Store.
Now you can log into your KUBI from anywhere and have a live connection to your office. On the flip side, if people need to get in touch with you quickly they know you are available right there at your desk–where you would normally be!
Have you tried using KUBI this way? Let us know how it worked out! We love to hear from KUBI users about the unique and creative things they are doing with KUBI.
